About Group

Dreamcatcher is South Korean girl group formed by Happyface Entertainment (now named Dreamcatcher Company). The group consists of seven members: JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Handong, Yoohyeon, Dami and Gahyeon. They officialy debuted January 13th 2017, with the single album Nightmare.

Dreamcatcher

Dreamcatcher originaly formed under the name MINX, consisting of five members: JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Yoohyeon, Dami. On September 18th 2014 they released their deubt single "Why Did You Come To My Home?". In December of the same year, they released a holiday single "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" with girl group Dal Shabet.
They made comeback in July 2015 with the EP Love Shake, which was to be their last release as MINX. In November 2016 they announced, that they will re-debut in 2017 under the new name Dreamcatcher with the addition of two new members, Handong a Gahyeon.

MINX

Year 2014-16

MINX debuted September 18th 2014 with their digital single Why Did You Come To My Home?
Group officialy disbanded 29. Listopadu 2016. Happyface Entertainment announced, that they will re-debut in 2017 under the new name Dreamcatcher with two new members.

Dreamcatcher

Year 2017

Dreamcatcher debuted January 13th 2017 with their single album Nightmare and its title track Chase Me.
April 5th they released their second single album Fall asleep in the mirror with its title track Good Night.
July 27th they released their first EP under the name Prequel. Album consists of 6 tracks including the title track Fly High.
Towards the end of the year, Dreamcatcher received critical acclaim from music critics worldwide for their unique sound that incorporated influences of rock and metal music.

Year 2018

January 12th Dreamcatcher released new digital single named Full moon dedicated to fans in celebration of their first anniversary. Composed by Ollounder (오종훈) and Leez (이수민). They also composed previous title tracks Chase Me and Good Night.
In February 2018 Dreamcatcher became the first K-pop girl group to complete a tour of major European cities to perform their music and interact with international fans.
In March Dreamcatcher announced their official fandom name to be InSomnia.

May 10th Dreamcatcher released their second EP Escape the era, which consists of 6 tracks including title track You And I.
Their third EP was released September 20th under the name Alone in the city with title track What.
They debuted in Japan with Japanese version of their single What.

Year 2019

On February 13th, Dreamcatcher released their forth EP under the name The end of the nightmare with title track PIRI, a song showcasing Dreamcatcher's signature rock acoustics and incorporation of music from piri.
The same day Happyface Entertainment announced, that they will change name to Dreamcatcher Company

September 11th Dreamcatcher released their first Japanese album The beginning of the end,which include majority of their title tracks in Japanese version and two new Japanese singles.
September 18th they released special mini album Raid of dream with title track Deja Vu. The track is a collaboration with a mobile game King's Raid.

Year 2020

In February 18th Dreamcatcher released their first studio album under the name Dystopia: The tree of language with title track Scream. The album is first part form the series "Dystopia" and also first studio album since 2017.
In March 11th they released Japanese single with the name Endless Night.
In May 1st Milenasia Project announced, that Dreamcatcher along with Korean boy group IN2IT and soloist AleXa will be featured in their song titled Be The Future.
July 15th Dreamcatcher released R.o.S.E BLUE, an OST (soundtrack) for game Girl Cafe Gun.

In July 8th Siyeon released her second OST Good Sera.
In August 17th they released second part from the series Dystopia. The fifth EP Dystopia: Lose myself with title track BOCA.
In October 16th Handong officialy returned to group. In October 19th she released her solo debut song First Light of Dawn.
In November 20th Dreamcatcher released their forth Japanese single No More.

Year 2021

Third part of the series Dystopia was released in January 26th under the name Dystopia: Road to utopia with title track Odd Eye.
In March 24th they released fifth Japanese single Eclipse with title track Eclipse which is anime opening for King's Raid: Successors of the Will.
In March 4th they released their official lighstick.
In May 14th they released OST Shadow for TV series Dark Hole.
In May 26th they released first episode of their show Dreamcatcher Mind (드림캐쳐마인드).
In July 1, Dreamcatcher announced their management contract with Pony Canyon will end on August 31, 2021.
In July 30th they released 2nd special mini album under the name Summer holiday and title track BEcause.
In September 10th Dreamcatcher announced their collaboration with NEOGEN that launched in September 14th with a live stream on their official Youtube channel.

Year 2022

On April 12, 2022, Dreamcatcher released their second Korean studio album Apocalypse: Save Us and its lead single MAISON.
On April 20, the group earned their first music show win of their career with "Maison" on MBC M's Show Champion.
On April 26, Dreamcatcher wrapped up their MAISON promotion with their goodbye stage performance on SBS MTV's "THE SHOW", where they went on to win their second music show win.

InSomnia

InSomnia is the fandom name of Dreamcatcher. The name was announced through the official Happyface Entertainment Youtube channel on March 10, 2018.

Founding and etymology

It comes from the Latin "In Somnia" which translates as "In Dreams". It represents how Dreamcatcher and their fans will always be together, creating many happy memories even when they dream.
